Probate Court fee increase scrapped

The proposed plan to increase Probate Court fees on 1 May 2017 (with the introduction of a banded system, based on the net value of the estate at the date of death) has been cancelled.

This means that the flat-rate fee of £155 for solicitor applications remains in place.

If you have an estate to administer, please ask to speak to a member of the Private Client Department, who will be happy to advise you.

We can also advise on estate planning, Inheritance Tax and the new Residence Nil Rate Band.
