Employment

For employers there is what seems to be a relentless tide of new legislation and potential pitfalls. Nowhere is the law faster moving than in employer – employee relations.

Adopting the strategy prevention is better than cure. Hand Morgan and Owen have Staffordshire solicitors. They are often instructed to provide or review statements or particulars of employment, contracts of employment, policy documents and to vet advertisements for vacancies.

When relationships break down we are asked to support the employer through dismissal and disciplinary procedures.

We have recently managed a detailed redundancy process and our advice will often be sought upon all aspects of the dismissal process including the drafting and negotiation of compromise agreements.

We advise employers in family friendly policies, working hours, directors’ responsibilities and responsibilities on the transfer of undertakings.

We represent employers large and small in the Employment Tribunal. One of our substantial clients finds it to be efficient and cost effective to outsource their requirements for support in this field to this firm rather than employ human resources personnel.

Contact Nigel Pepper or Patrick Nelson in our Stafford office on 01785 211 411.
