HAND MORGAN & OWEN ART SPONSORSHIP 2011 DRAWS TO A CLOSE

As the year draws to a close Hand Morgan & Owen Consultant Nigel Pepper reflected on a year of sponsorship of the arts by Hand Morgan & Owen Solicitors.  He commented “the firm has been very generous in money and time in supporting a variety of events over the year.  Small initiatives can make such a difference in encouraging local talent and helping even established artists to display their work”.

In April 2011 the Hand Morgan & Owen prize at the Staffordshire Open Art Exhibition, at the Shirehall Gallery, was awarded to Graham Stokes for his pencil drawing “Stornaway Road”.

In June 2011 the firm was pleased to provide sponsorship towards the Stafford College Art and Design Exhibition.  This exhibition of work from foundation year students through to degree students occupied the whole of the Whiteley building and the quality was exceptional.

In September the first Stafford Town Centre Arts Festival was held.  Nigel Pepper chaired the steering committee which produced a one day festival with an estimated 70 events across the town centre.  He remarked “those who volunteered (or who were volunteered!) to put on this event really gelled and produced something special, I think.  The event demonstrated the pride that so many have in their town centre and how the Town Centre Partnership can help to bring the community of Stafford together”.

For the Stafford Arts Festival Hand Morgan & Owen hosted an exhibition of work by internationally recognised fine artist Lynne Broberg and Hand Morgan & Owen rounded off its year of promotion of the arts in Stafford by hosting an exhibition of paintings and drawings by Mark Lippett on 17 December 2011.  A number of his pieces will remain on display until the 27 January 2012, most of which are for sale.

Hand Morgan & Owen also held a draw for a Christmas hamper to promote the Stafford Enjoy card.  Any holder of this card (which is available free of charge from membership outlets or online at www.stafford-towncentre.co.uk ) was entitled to enter the draw.  The winner has been announced and is a Mr A Stubbs.

Hand Morgan & Owen wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
