Phizackerley and your will?

It is important to review your will every few years to determine whether it needs to be updated in light of changes to the law or changes to your personal circumstances. For example you might wish to update your will following a change in marital circumstances or after the birth of children or grandchildren.

Recently, an important case (the Phizackerley case) has been reported in relation to tax planning wills which may affect the arrangements that you have in place if you have a tax planning will that includes a nil-rate band discretionary trust.

It is by no means the case that this type of will is ineffective, but it is advisable to arrange a meeting with your solicitor to review your circumstances, in case any changes are necessary.
